Service Technician

Job Summary

The Service Technician is not only the last person to work on a new project, they are also an individual with ongoing client relationships. They are the caretaker and repair expert for the products and knowledge needed to retain the trust of our customers. Upon completion of all other project work, the Service Technician prepares the new project for transfer to the owners. With meticulous attention to detail, the final steps of cleaning, testing, and firing up of our products is completed. As the final set of eyes on our new project work, the Service Technician has the enviable job of photographing the sum of our efforts so that we can celebrate success together and stretch ourselves to improve after every job. The Service Technician will also perform routine preventative maintenance and repair on a wide array of hearth and patio products, in order to ensure their safe and reliable operation.

The successful candidate is knowledgeable and friendly, a team player, and by nature, a determined troubleshooter. The candidate must be reliable and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate with requesting department and clients to perform work orders and tasks efficiently
  • Clean, and set-up newly installed products, and complete applicable warranty registration forms
  • Install product accessories (e.g., Doors, blower kits, remote controls, etc.)
  • Start and test installed fire products to ensure the safe operation for clients
  • Instruct owners and/or other operators as required to ensure the safe use of the products
  • Demonstrate operation and maintenance requirements to owners and others as needed
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose product malfunctions and failures for the purpose of identifying repair or replacement needs
  • Perform maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment as needed
  • Work with fellow tradesman as needed to facilitate the successful completion of their work with regard to our products
  • Maintain a log of all incomplete work orders requiring follow-up
  • Complete all outstanding work-orders in a timely manner
  • Communicate with clients immediately when any delays in service/parts are foreseen
  • Prepare and submit written job sheets to accounting for billing
  • Communicate to supervisor any known hazard or risks requiring attention
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all core products offered by our company
  • Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items
  • Maintain tools, supplies and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and that equipment is in safe operating condition
  • Demonstrate respect for every work environment, and take care to ensure that the work area is left in the same or better condition than when we arrived
  • Report site damages immediately to supervisor
  • Keep accurate maintenance log of assigned work vehicle, and request maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Engage in training to upgrade skills and knowledge as job conditions change
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Sales Associate

Job Summary

As part of the sales team, you will be responsible for managing your customers through the process of selecting the right fireplace or stove, ordering products, and scheduling installation. Your primary responsibility is to provide the customer with enough information in order for them to make informed decisions. This information includes the best fit based upon product features, price point and their specific project application. We emphasize world-class customer service and conduct business with integrity, therefore the position is less about hard core sales and more about establishing the needs of the customer. The successful candidate is an organized team player, independent thinker, and enjoys communicating with and assisting customers. The candidate must have prior sales experience with an ability to harvest new leads to expand our client base.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Act as the hearth/fireplace expert, and share your knowledge and experience with humility
  • Develop sales strategies and continuously work to expand customer base and maintain business relationships with clients
  • Work with designers and builders to design unique spaces for the products we offer
  • Achieve inside sales revenue goals while gaining an understanding of our products, business, and accounts.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with team members and other departments
  • Keep current on all products and trends in the industry
  • Clearly establish expectations up front for the customer
  • Create project bids accurately and efficiently
  • Proactively communicate and interact with retail customers, builders, vendors, manufacturer reps, distributors, other dealers, and our team

    Compensation is base plus commission.
